TATA RoofDek D60 Trapezoidal Roof Decking – 800mm Cover Width

The RoofDek D60 is a 60mm depth structural roof deck designed for medium-span applications in commercial and industrial buildings.

Available in both solid and web perforated variants, D60 bridges the gap between shallow profiles like D46 and deep profiles like D100, delivering genuine medium-span capability up to 5.00m on solid sections.

The D60 Roof Profile is designed to meet the demands of modern construction while providing exceptional structural integrity.

It supports typical loadings of up to 3.5 kN/m² and features an aesthetic appeal enhanced by Colourcoat finishes.

For projects requiring specific load calculations, our technical data sheets are available for download, and site-specific assessments can be conducted to ensure optimal performance tailored to your needs.

Emergency delivery available within 24 hours (subject to stock levels).

  • A maximum span of around 3.6 metres, achieved through strategically overlapping sheets, this profile is engineered for lightweight applications without compromising strength.

  • Material Sustainability

Recyclability: Steel components are 100% recyclable at the end of life.

  • Longevity: Durable galvanised coating provides extended service life

  • Ideal for commercial and industrial buildings where speed of installation and cost efficiency are paramount.

  • The trapezoidal design not only improves water drainage but also incorporates acoustic properties through perforated edges and fillers, reducing noise transmission.

  • Easy to handle for safer onsite logistics.

  • Compliance with Design Codes and Standards (see technical).

Benefits

Medium-Span Efficiency: D60 is the first profile in the RoofDek range offering genuine medium-span capability up to 5.00m on solid sections, filling the gap between shallow and deep profiles.

Optimised Bearing Width: 100mm bearing on purlins ensures structural stability without requiring additional reinforcement for most applications.

Material Flexibility: Available in S220 and S280 steel grades plus aluminium, allowing specifiers to balance cost against performance.

Acoustic Options: Web perforated variant with pattern 4546 (46% open area) provides 10.7% exposed soffit opening for acoustic absorption in open-plan spaces.

Proven Track Record: RoofDek D60 is established across warehousing, commercial, retail, and industrial sectors with decades of field performance data.

Pre-Finished Options: Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra available single or double-sided for enhanced aesthetics and durability.

Applications

Building Types and Applications

The D32S system is ideally suited for lightweight commercial applications:

Lightweight commercial buildings

Industrial facilities with purlin systems

Educational buildings

Retail and office developments

Applications requiring economical shallow profiles

Span Range: 1.2m to 2.8m for typical applications

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Technical

Exposed Soffit: When the soffit of the perforated deck is exposed to the interior environment (open-plan office, retail, leisure), the VCL must be positioned UNDERNEATH the tray (above the deck). This prevents moisture from entering the void and affecting the acoustic treatment or insulation.

Ceiling-Protected Soffit: When a suspended metal framework (MF) or other ceiling system creates a separate interior environment below the deck, the VCL may remain above the tray. The ceiling system then provides the primary moisture barrier.

Pattern 4546 Characteristics: 4.5mm diameter holes at 6.3mm triangular centres provide 10.7% exposed soffit opening and 46% open area. This geometry delivers acoustic absorption in open-plan spaces while maintaining structural integrity.

Transverse Resistance Impact: Perforated variants show significantly reduced transverse resistance (internal Rw and end Rw) compared to solid sections. This is by design and does not indicate structural deficiency when properly specified for the intended span and load case.

Shear Capacity: Perforated sections have approximately 20% of the shear capacity of equivalent solid sections. Ensure shear demand does not exceed the perforated section capacity for the given span and loading.
