SR35+ - Trapezoidal Roof Deck Profile

The SR35+ is ideal for roofing projects requiring a balance of strength, speed, and coverage. Its clean underside can remain exposed for an industrial aesthetic or finished with a polyester white coating for brighter interiors.

The sinusoidal profile is the industry standard for single-skin roofing. The 35mm depth delivers excellent spanning capability with minimal weight.

A wide range of finishes can be applied for enhanced performance or visual appeal, depending on project requirements.

ROOF DECKING BUILT FOR LARGE-SCALE PROJECTS

Strong spanning: a 35mm depth in 0.7mm, 0.9mm or 1.2mm gauge gives dependable spans across typical purlin spacings, reducing secondary supports for programme and cost efficiency.
Coverage & handling: 900mm cover width maximises coverage per panel to cut laying time and speed up installation, while the lightweight design (gauge-dependent) keeps handling simple yet strong under load.
Durability & corrosion protection: supplied hot-dip galvanised (Z275) or polyester-coated for excellent corrosion resistance, suiting everything from standard roofing to more demanding environments.

Simplified fixing: 150mm end laps with main fixings in every trough for a straightforward, secure install.
Optimised handling: side laps not always essential and side supports at 450mm centres make installation efficient and adaptable.
Length flexibility: supplied in lengths up to 12m, reducing joints and speeding up programme delivery.
Speed: fixing every trough, 150mm end laps and intermediate fasteners in alternate troughs mean fast installation and lower labour costs.

Spanning & Load Capability

Typical span range: 1.2m to 2.8m (dependent on gauge, load and deflection limit)

Deflection limits: Span/200 for permanent loads (strict), Span/90 for combined permanent + variable.

Design factor: 1.5 on yield (building regulations compliance)

Bearing: Minimum 60mm on supports (prevent trough crushing)

Fixing & Lap Details

Fixing: Fastener every trough (not every crown). Stainless or galvanised fasteners; sealant washers where required for water management.

End lap: 150mm minimum (two trough intervals). Allow for building movement

Intermediate fasteners: Every alternate trough on intermediate supports for multi-span roofs.

Side lap: Not essential for single-skin, but recommended in high-wind or high-moisture environments.

Side support spacing: Maximum 450mm centre-to-centre on the edges of the roof.

Sealant: Polyurethane or silicone – situational. Consult our technical team for your environment.

Once we decided to go with RMD, Matt was able to accommodate some very specific cuts and get it loaded the same day we called. Our builders had originally proposed a beam and block solution for the ground floor over our basement excavation, and had never come across steel decking in a domestic property.
